Visitor Registration Day
Rationale:
Glen Waverley South Primary School is committed to ensuring that we provide a safe environment for all students and staff. This includes ensuring that people who visit our school and move beyond the school office are registered as being on school business.
Guidelines:
- No person without proper authorisation shall enter the school buildings.
- All visitors on business to the school must report to the main office.
- Registration to be completed in appropriate book which details:
- Date, name, company or organisation, time in/time out and signature.
- A visitor’s name badge must be worn while school business is completed.
- Staff are directed to inform any unknown visitors to report to the office to complete the appropriate registration and collect a visitor’s badge.
- Staff are required to wear name badges.
- Before leaving the school visitors should sign out and return their badge.
Visitors Include:
Parents assisting in classroom programs and with various tasks around the school, technicians, tradespeople, consultants, salespeople, district office consultants, performers, health officials, work experience students and advisory service personnel who will be working beyond the front office of the school.
Relief staff will wear a badge indicating their relief position in the school.
Assembly, Before and After School Care.
We welcome parents to our assembly, but all parents should enter and exit via the outside door of the hall. Parents collecting and depositing children for the Outside Hours School Care Program should also enter the hall via the outside door and report to the supervisors.
For the safety of the students and property we ask all parents not to congregate in the school buildings before and after school to collect students. Arrange to meet your child at a convenient location outside the buildings.
This policy is not intended to restrict parent access to staff. Parents are welcome to make appointments with staff members at mutually convenient times.
