Reading Recovery

Reading Recovery is an integral part of the Early Years Literacy Program.

Reading Recovery is a one-one early intervention program that provides an opportunity for students who, after one year of schooling, have not established effective reading and writing processes.

At Glen Waverley South Primary School we offer Reading Recovery to students who require this early intervention.

Students on Reading Recovery receive a daily thirty-minute Reading Recovery lesson from qualified Reading Recovery teacher. This is in addition to their regular reading and writing program in the classroom.

Research in Victoria and overseas indicates that currently Reading Recovery is the most successful intervention program available to schools.
