Underpinned by excellent English and Numeracy teaching and learning practice, students will be provided with curriculum and learning experiences that will develop values and skills such as loyalty, honesty and integrity, motivation, resilience, positive self esteem and enthusiasm. Glen Waverley South Primary School offers an extensive Prep Transition program to help prepare children for their first year of schooling. We work closely with the kinders/preschools to ensure a smooth transition from kinder/preschool to primary school. The main aspects of the Prep Transition program are: Prep Transition Sessions. These sessions usually operate fortnightly during Term 3 and Term 4 for approximately eight sessions in total. They run for about 45 minutes usually on a Friday afternoon. They help the children become familiar with the facilities, teachers and routines of school life Parent Information Sessions. These sessions run in conjunction with the Prep Transition Sessions and offer parents valuable information to assist their child with the move from kinder/preschool to primary school. Parent Information Evening. This evening provides information on ‘school readiness’ and the many programs offered at Glen Waverley South Primary School. Simply follow the steps below for a fantastic future at Glen Waverley South Primary School for your child. Step 1: Visit the school for a tour. Book in for a tour by telephoning the school office on 9560 6371 or contact us by email. Step 2: Collect an enrolment pack from the school office when you come for your tour or contact the office to have it mailed to you. Step 3: Complete the enrolment form and submit it to the school office the year prior to your child attending school. Step 4: Enrol you child in our Prep Transition Program. Call the school in Term 1 of the year prior to your child attending school and book in for this program. Step 5: Attend the Parent Information Evening as part of our Open Night during Education Week.
